Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rickey Cobb (ranked 8085 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Brian (ranked 4592 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as James Brian enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rickey Cobb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Brian!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cobb clinches up against the cage.

Cobb pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brian swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cobb takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Cobb uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brian.

Brian has Cobb up against the cage in a clinch.

Brian pulls guard effortlessly.
Cobb working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cobb preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cobb trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cobb wants to control from the top but Brian keeps moving.
Cobb wanted to stand there but Brian had control of the position.

Cobb stays in close to Brian's body and controls the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Cobb throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Brian tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cobb is in Brian's guard.
Cobb is working Brian over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Cobb knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brian on the ground.
Cobb pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brian is keeping the position for now.

Cobb cracks Brian with a solid left hand.
Cobb with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Cobb throwing strikes but missing.
Cobb trying to control the position from guard on top but Brian is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cobb throws a big elbow that misses.
Cobb stops Brian from standing up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brian is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brian tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cobb knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Cobb has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brian is working away from the top position though.

Cobb makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cobb.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brian postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Brian seems to be working for a kimura but Cobb defends the submission attempt.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Brian instigates a clinch.

Cobb breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cobb checks a leg kick nicely.
Cobb is looking to counter the offense by Brian and move into the clinch.

Brian prevents Cobb from getting back to his feet.

Cobb is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cobb working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cobb tries to roll over but Brian keeps him under control.
Cobb wants to control but Brian is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cobb is holding on to half guard well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

James Brian showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Brian pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Brian takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cobb tries to get to full guard but Brian has control of the leg.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Brian is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Cobb manages to get to full guard.

Brian is fighting to break Cobb's control of his arms but Cobb is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Brian is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cobb is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cobb manages to get back to half guard.
Cobb is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cobb is trying to get back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rickey Cobb.
I think Cobb has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
