Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jari Byczynski (ranked 2818 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Rampage (ranked 5119 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jari Byczynski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis Rampage!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rampage moves forwards but Byczynski connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Byczynski stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Byczynski lands a jab-cross combination.
Rampage tries to move into range but Byczynski moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rampage.
Rampage shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Byczynski defends it nicely.

Nice combo by Byczynski! Oh, that's hurt him - Rampage falls to the canvas and Byczynski follows him into side control.


Rampage is rocked!


It looks like Lewis Rampage has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Byczynski sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rampage is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rampage can do anything to dispel that myth.

Byczynski is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Rampage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Byczynski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Byczynski has control of Rampage's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rampage regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Byczynski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Byczynski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Byczynski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rampage can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Byczynski throws a strike there. Rampage manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.

Byczynski is looking for a kimura but Rampage is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Byczynski to get the leverage.
Rampage wants to control but Byczynski is keeping busy and won't allow it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Byczynski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rampage keeps working.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Byczynski seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Byczynski is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rampage can do to turn this around?

Byczynski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Byczynski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rampage for as long as he can get away with.
Byczynski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Byczynski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rampage is wriggling around but Byczynski manages to pass to half guard.

Byczynski is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Rampage to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Byczynski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Byczynski is working Rampage over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Rampage trying to keep a closed guard but Byczynski is proving a slippery customer.

Rampage takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rampage seems to have recovered his senses.
Rampage tries to score a power double leg takedown but Byczynski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rampage somewhat.

Byczynski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Byczynski pushes Rampage up against the cage in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lewis Rampage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Byczynski dips to his left and cracks Rampage with an uppercut!
Byczynski walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Rampage drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Byczynski swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Rampage's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
