Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Optimus Prime (ranked 1202 p4p, 167 weight class) and Troy Lancaster (ranked 1571 p4p, 222 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Optimus Prime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 21 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Troy Lancaster!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Prime scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sloppy strikes there by Prime.
Lancaster is looking for a sweep.
An elbow from Prime crashes against the mat.
Lancaster avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Prime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Prime working away.
Prime misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Prime in side control, throwing shots but Lancaster defends.
Prime postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Prime lands some shots froms side control.
Prime trying to control the action but Lancaster is working from the bottom.
Prime tries to score with some ground and pound. Lancaster controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Prime grinds an elbow into Lancaster's temple.
Lancaster tries to improve position but can't.
Prime creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lancaster sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Prime has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lancaster manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Prime throwing shots but Lancaster is blocking nicely.
Prime scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Lancaster is trying to maintain the position but Prime is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lancaster is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Prime is not content to let Lancaster control the position.

Lancaster is working Prime over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Prime is on top in guard.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Lancaster bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Prime's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Prime lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Prime throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lancaster works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Prime postures up in Lancaster's guard and throws a big left but Lancaster blocks it.
Prime throws a big elbow that misses.
Prime stands up over Lancaster, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Lancaster manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Prime manages to get himself to full guard.

My spies in Jitsu Jim inform me that Lancaster has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lancaster throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Lancaster tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

No joy there for Prime, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lancaster throws a hook but Prime blocks it.

Prime is looking for a sweep. Lancaster is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lancaster slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Prime is trying to control the position but Lancaster postures up.
Lancaster with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Prime has momentary wrist control but Lancaster slips an elbow through the middle.
Lancaster lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Prime isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lancaster stacks Prime on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lancaster!

Prime tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lancaster wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Lancaster connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Prime some visible discomfort.

Prime is not content to let Lancaster control the position.
Oh Prime is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Troy Lancaster really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that FORCEE logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
