Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chosu Viv (ranked 4141 p4p, 350 weight class) and Brandon Long (ranked 21855 p4p, 539 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viv shoots for a double leg takedown but Long sprawls well. He's pushed Viv's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Long feints the counter takedown.
Viv keeps the fight on the outside.

Viv feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've been hearing good reports from Viv's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Viv has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Viv is looking for a kimura but Long is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Viv to get the leverage.

Viv is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Long is just riding it out for now. Viv eventually gives up the hold.

Viv wants to control but Long is keeping him busy.

Viv looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Long with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Long is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Long is trying to maintain the position but Viv is very close to passing his half guard.
Viv is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Long is hurt! He's hurt bad - Viv fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Long from any more punishment! Congratulations to Viv! Great finish!
