Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurmagomedov scores with a takedown into Matthews's guard.
Nurmagomedov trying to control the position from guard on top but Matthews is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nurmagomedov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nurmagomedov wants to get up but he can't break Matthews's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matthews tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Matthews tries to close the distance and clinch but Nurmagomedov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Nurmagomedov or perhaps it was just good defense by Matthews, which made it look bad.
Nurmagomedov misses with a kick to the body.
It looked like Matthews was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Nurmagomedov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Matthews quickly recovers to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nurmagomedov is trying for a kimura here. Matthews looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Nurmagomedov wins by kimura!
