Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jairo Valea (ranked 3960 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Mullen (ranked 6035 p4p, 0 weight class). Valea comes to the cage accompanied by DJ Shadow - Organ Donor. Jairo Valea has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullen with a poor takedown
and Valea counters with a left to the body.
Valea scores with a nice right hand.
Mullen shoots in for a takedown but Valea shows good takedown defense.

Mullen has managed to clinch.
Valea is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mullen pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Valea prevents a body shot from Mullen.

Mullen is trying to trip Valea. He has hold of a leg but Valea is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mullen persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mullen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Valea defends well and Mullen ends up having to push Valea into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Stan Mullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Valea definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

A little jabbing left from Mullen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Mullen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Valea looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Valea sneaks out the side door and pushes Mullen away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Valea takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

so Valea counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Horrible takedown attempt by Mullen or perhaps it was just good defense by Valea, which made it look bad.

Valea takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Valea, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Jairo Valea rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
