Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

23 - 77 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anzhor Azhiev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

24 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takem Downem!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downem throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Azhiev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Downem is in Azhiev's guard.
Downem gets to his feet - Azhiev follows without any prompting.
Azhiev shoots in for a takedown but Downem shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Azhiev fails with the takedown
and Downem holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Downem lands an uppercut.
Downem tries to throw a body punch but Azhiev avoids it by throwing Downem back against the cage.
Downem's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Downem instigates a clinch.
Azhiev fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anzhor Azhiev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Downem fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Downem tries to work over Azhiev's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Downem pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Downem moves into the clinch successfully.

Downem escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Azhiev misses with a takedown attempt
and Downem holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Azhiev blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Downem breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Downem shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Downem was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Downem has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Downem closes the distance and clinches.
Azhiev fails to pull guard.
Downem manages to break the clinch.
Azhiev fails with a takedown attempt.
Downem gets a takedown into half guard.

Azhiev is breathing heavily.
Downem has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Azhiev knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Downem on the ground.
Downem lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Azhiev hang on?

Downem get's back to his feet.
Downem fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Azhiev sprawls well initially but Downem persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Downem stands up and beckons Azhiev to join him on the feet.
Downem defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Azhiev.
Azhiev doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Downem counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Downem misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Azhiev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Azhiev is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Downem to keep the fight standing.
Downem misses with a hook from the clinch.

Downem breaks the clinch.
Downem lands a left and a right that send Azhiev crashing to the mat, dazed. Downem thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Azhiev is rocked!
It looks like Anzhor Azhiev has been cut.
Azhiev is holding his hands too far apart here. Downem throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Azhiev is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Takem Downem!
Anzhor Azhiev was interviewed post fight and said 'I still want that title shot. Im the most experienced fighter here and everyday wants to see me smash the champ so lets do it whenever he starts ducking me.'.
