The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Laz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Britt as he jumps to the side.

Britt seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Laz for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Laz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Laz throws a left and a right that both miss
and Britt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Laz will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Laz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Britt stacks Laz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Britt!

Britt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Britt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Laz's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Laz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
You can see the frustration on Laz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
