Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amir Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Slot Waster!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan misses the jab.
Khan scores with a crisp jab that stopped Waster in his tracks.
Waster throws a hook but Khan avoids it easily.
Waster throws an off balance right hand
and Khan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Waster throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Khan enables Waster to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Khan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Khan wants to get back to his feet but Waster passes into half guard.
Waster is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Waster frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Khan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Waster on the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Waster controlling his opponent.
Waster seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Khan is holding on tight.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Waster working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Waster controlling from mount.
Khan tries to lock up and control but Waster gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Waster takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Waster is trying to take his opponent's back.
Waster has hold of Khan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Khan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Waster is looking to work his way around to Khan's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Waster looking to isolate an arm here. Khan doesn't see it coming and as Waster extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Waster!
