PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Slater (ranked 4335 p4p, 347 weight class) and Zardu Hasselfrau (ranked 5613 p4p, 405 weight class). Hasselfrau is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Guardians Inferno. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zardu Hasselfrau!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hasselfrau is looking to clinch.
Slater throws the left hand but Hasselfrau avoids the punch easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Slater drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hasselfrau sprawls and moves away.

Slater fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hasselfrau manages to avoid it.

Slater feints and as Hasselfrau raises his hands in defense, Slater changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Tim Slater overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hasselfrau is in trouble now - Slater has advanced to mount!

Hasselfrau is controlling an arm, preventing Slater from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Slater has hold of Hasselfrau's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hasselfrau manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hasselfrau is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Slater definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

A nice side step and Hasselfrau releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
