PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Left Ball (ranked 1325 p4p, 183 weight class) and Iggy Manley (ranked 3197 p4p, 377 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Manley's choice of entrance music: Born in the USA. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Left Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Iggy Manley!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ball lands with a shot to the body.
Manley shoots in but Ball avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A quick step to the side and Ball tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ball fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Manley misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Ball to counter with a crisp jab.
Manley shoots for a double leg takedown but Ball sprawls well. He's pushed Manley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Left Ball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iggy Manley.

Ball fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Manley, pushing him back against the cage.
Manley goes for a takedown attempt but Ball pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Manley's coach down at Got Your 6 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Manley's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Manley shoots in but Ball avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ball scores with a punch to the head.
Manley walks into a straight right hand from Ball.
Ball is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Ball rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Manley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ball throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Manley on the side of the head.

Manley takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ball's corner calls for a 1-2. Ball obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Ball is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Manley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ball swivels and escapes.
Ball swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Manley.

A nice left hand lands by Ball.
Manley jumps guard but Ball stands there with Manley around his waist. Manley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Manley has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ball is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ball gets through Manley's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Ball digs a right hand underneath Manley's ribcage. Manley let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Manley is still on wobbly legs! Can Ball finish him?
Ball lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Manley to his knees! Ball keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
