Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juu Dyon (ranked 3930 p4p, 403 weight class) and Brian Roper (ranked 961 p4p, 122 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juu Dyon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Roper!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roper swinging wildly here.
Dyon shoots in but no luck this time.
Dyon shoots in for a takedown but Roper shows good takedown defense.
Brian Roper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roper keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Dyon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dyon lands in his opponent's guard.
Dyon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dyon passes Roper's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Roper is defending against the submission attempts here by Dyon.

Dyon is trying to work for a kimura but Roper is defending well.

Dyon is just content to waste time from the top position. Roper takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Roper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dyon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dyon forces his way into half guard.

Dyon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Roper has managed to free his arm - good work.

Dyon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dyon is controlling the pace.

Dyon is looking for a kimura but Roper is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dyon to get the leverage.
Roper wants to control but Dyon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Roper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dyon has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Dyon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Roper is defending against the submission attempts here by Dyon.
Roper has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Fight Hard. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Dyon throws a strike but Roper avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Dyon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dyon darts in looking for a takedown but Roper gets double underhooks and turns Dyon into the cage.
Dyon moves in looking to clinch but Roper pushes him off.
Roper connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dyon. Dyon circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Roper lands a jab.
Roper is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Nice sprawl there from Roper as Dyon shoots in.
Roper lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dyon doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Roper connects with a right hand. Dyon shakes it off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roper moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Dyon takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Dyon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Roper defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juu Dyon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dyon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Roper swivels and escapes.
Dyon misses with a few strikes there.
Dyon moves in looking to clinch but Roper pushes him off.
Dyon misses with a takedown attempt - Roper sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Roper counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Nice takedown defense from Roper. No joy for Dyon on that attempt.
Roper connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dyon. Dyon circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Roper lands with a straight right. Dyon didn't see that one coming.

Brian Roper seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nice body punch from Roper.
Roper might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Roper lands with a good body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Roper lands a jab to the head.
Roper keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dyon with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Roper to score with a decent uppercut.
Roper works Dyon's body with a nice hook.
Dyon throws a hook to the side of Roper's head but Roper sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dyon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roper pinned against the cage. Roper gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Dyon.
Dyon walks into a stiff left hand from Roper.
Roper listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Dyon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Roper has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Roper smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Dyon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Dyon drives through with a takedown into guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dyon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Dyon really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Dyon is trying to get an arm triangle but Roper is defending well.
Roper is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Roper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


No joy there for Roper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dyon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roper looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dyon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roper keeps working.
Roper is looking for a sweep.
Roper is not content to let Dyon control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dyon tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Dyon working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Dyon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dyon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dyon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ground and pound from Dyon seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Roper regains half guard there - taking advantage of Dyon's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Roper keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Roper is controlling Dyon's trapped leg to prevent Dyon from advancing to side control.

Dyon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Dyon seems to be working for a kimura but Roper defends the submission attempt.

Dyon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dyon is working for a kimura but Roper is defending it quite comfortably.

Roper gets full guard.
Dyon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dyon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dyon drops back looking for a leg! Roper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Roper manages to kick Dyon off! Dyon jumps back into Roper's guard.
Dyon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dyon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Roper keeping moving, preventing Dyon from controlling successfully.
Dyon is really struggling to control Roper but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dyon shoots in for a takedown but Roper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Juu Dyon showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Dyon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
