Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charles Hawtry (ranked 4811 p4p, 513 weight class) and Balzac Tzovalzeck (ranked 4405 p4p, 484 weight class). Balzac Tzovalzeck has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Hawtry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balzac Tzovalzeck!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tzovalzeck changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hawtry looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hawtry's coaches at The Revolution have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tzovalzeck trying to control the action but Hawtry is working from the bottom.
Hawtry is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Tzovalzeck is controlling the pace.
Hawtry wants to control but Tzovalzeck is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tzovalzeck is looking for a kimura but Hawtry is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tzovalzeck to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawtry wants to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tzovalzeck in particular looking to stall.

Tzovalzeck tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hawtry defends well and Tzovalzeck ends up having to push Hawtry into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A little feinted left hand from Hawtry on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Tzovalzeck loads up on a big right hand but Hawtry slips the punch.
Hawtry lands a really nice looking cross but Tzovalzeck seems unphased.

Hawtry throws a hook to the side of Tzovalzeck's head but Tzovalzeck sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looked like Hawtry wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Tzovalzeck is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Tzovalzeck looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Tzovalzeck wants to break free but Hawtry has control.

Tzovalzeck tries to land a leg kick but Hawtry saw it coming and moves away.
Hawtry feints a jab promting Tzovalzeck to slip. Hawtry then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Tzovalzeck slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hawtry closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Tzovalzeck tries to clinch but Hawtry moves out of range.
Tzovalzeck doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hawtry counters with a crisp right that sends Tzovalzeck to the canvas! Hawtry follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
