Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Cleary (ranked 3529 p4p, 423 weight class) and Dante Firm (ranked 3325 p4p, 409 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Dante Firm enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dante Firm!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cleary swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Firm.
Firm swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cleary scores with a nice right hand.
Cleary tries to clinch up.
Firm misses with a low kick.

Firm closes the distance and pushes Cleary back into the cage.

Cleary tries to land knees in the clinch but Firm avoids the damage to the body.

The fight stays on the outside here - Firm looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cleary tightens his grip and picks Firm up, before dumping him to the ground. Firm manages to land in guard.

Firm fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cleary, pushing him back against the cage.

Firm has clasped his hands together around Cleary's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cleary shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Firm napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cleary is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Firm knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Cleary tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cleary has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Firm, as that shot connected.

Cleary is working for takedown but Firm is calmly controlling the position for now.

Firm lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cleary backwards.

A very excited looking Dante Firm rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
