Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Haze (ranked 383 p4p, 47 weight class) and Kira Miyata (ranked 245 p4p, 33 weight class). Miyata has chosen Boa - Energetic as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Haze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 42 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kira Miyata!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyata dips to his left and cracks Haze with an uppercut!
Miyata gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Haze scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Haze lands a right hook to the body.
Miyata waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Haze.
Haze misses with an uppercut. Miyata saw that one coming.
Haze misses the body punch
and Haze takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Haze misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Miyata on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The fighters circling - Miyata throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Haze was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Miyata misses with an uppercut. Haze saw that one coming.

Miyata drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Miyata wants to control from the top but Haze keeps moving.
Haze is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Miyata keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Haze's head.
Miyata stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haze swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Haze is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Miyata is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Miyata stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haze swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Haze is on top in guard.


Miyata is looking for a triangle but Haze pushes his legs off easily.

Haze loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Haze trying to control the position from guard on top but Miyata is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Haze postures up and lands a big shot to Miyata's brow.
Miyata is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Miyata had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Haze defends it easily.

Haze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miyata swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miyata is on top in guard.

Haze wants to control but Miyata passes easily into half guard.

Miyata throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Haze to regain full guard.
Miyata is pushing down on Haze's leg trying to pass to half guard. Haze is fighting to maintain full guard but Miyata has managed to sneak the leg through.
Haze wants to improve his position but Miyata is controlling well.
Miyata is thwarting Haze's attempts to control the position.
Miyata uses his free foot to push down on Haze's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Haze.
Haze is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kira Miyata dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Miyata looks to land a combination. Haze sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Miyata shoots in but no luck this time.
Kira Miyata is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Haze connects with a body shot.
Miyata looks to score with a jab to the body but Haze is just out of range.
Miyata takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Haze lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Miyata uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Haze.
Haze swings for the body but Miyata moves out of range.
Haze throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Jerry Haze is winning the standup battle so far.
Miyata misses with a wild combination.
Miyata throws a lazy right hand but Haze sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Haze.
Nice body punch from Miyata.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Haze wants to slow Miyata down by chopping away at his legs.

Haze uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Miyata takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Haze throws a front kick that sends Miyata stumbling back into the cage.
Haze darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
A slow jab from Haze misses its intended target.
Miyata ducks under a wild hook from Haze.
Crunch! Haze slams his shin into Miyata's torso.
Haze lands with a good body shot.
Haze is looking to land body kicks.

Haze throws a shot from downtown. Miyata moves away and avoids it.

Haze jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It seemed like Miyata was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Miyata sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Miyata stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Miyata wants it to stay on the feet.
And Miyata tries to counter it with a takedown but Haze pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Haze scores with a crisp jab that stopped Miyata in his tracks.
Miyata takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Miyata connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Miyata looks to score with a jab to the body but Haze is just out of range.

Haze shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miyata slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Miyata tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Miyata utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Haze chips away with some ground and pound.

Haze got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miyata has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Haze has managed to get both his arms back between Miyata's legs - danger averted.

Miyata has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Haze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Haze is fighting to break Miyata's control of his arms but Miyata is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Miyata looks to throw the jab but Haze is out of range.
Miyata looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Haze moves into range and connects with a jab.
Haze throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miyata moves forwards but Haze connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Haze tries a head kick but it misses.
Miyata looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Haze darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Miyata slips under a jab from Haze.
Miyata has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Haze finds it's way round the side to connect with Miyata's head.
Haze shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Miyata but Miyata pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miyata takes a swing at Haze's ribcage but misses.

and Miyata counters with a stiff right hand.
Miyata lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Haze backs up against the cage.

and Miyata counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Miyata takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Miyata fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Miyata shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Haze eats them both and turns towards Miyata to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Haze stuns Miyata with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Miyata has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Jerry Haze showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Haze has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
