Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yoel Assuie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ghandi Buddha!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Buddha.
Buddha scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Assuie throws a nice looking combination but Buddha bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A nice combination there by Buddha.
Some wild striking there from Buddha.
Assuie seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Buddha lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Yoel Assuie has been cut.
Assuie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Buddha finds it's way round the side to connect with Assuie's head.

Buddha misses the jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As Buddha looks to move away, Assuie throws a big counter combo but Buddha just gets out of the way.

Buddha has his takedown stuffed
and Assuie counters with a right hand to the body.
Buddha swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Assuie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Buddha.
Buddha's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Buddha duly obliges.
Assuie throws a head kick that misses.
A nice combination there by Buddha.
Oh Assuie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Assuie seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Buddha throws a jab but it's blocked by Assuie.

Sloppy strikes from Buddha. Those never looked like landing.
Ghandi Buddha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Buddha looks for the body kick but Assuie saw that one coming.

Assuie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Buddha.
Buddha throws an overhand right that lands on Assuie's shoulder, as Assuie tries to avoid the shot.

Assuie throws a left and a right that both miss
and Assuie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nice body kick from Buddha.
Buddha tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Assuie swivels and escapes.

Assuie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Buddha on his heels. He'll look to pass Buddha's guard now, I'm sure.

Buddha has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Assuie is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Buddha.

Assuie looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Buddha is avoiding damage well.
Assuie trying to control the position but Buddha is working away.
We've been hearing that Assuie has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Assuie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Assuie blocks the strikes from Buddha.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buddha is looking to reverse the position.

Buddha is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Assuie has control of an arm but Buddha manages to advance to Assuie's back!

Buddha thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Assuie is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Buddha avoiding Assuie 's attempts to control his hands.
Buddha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Assuie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Assuie is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Buddha off. It looks like it's working - Buddha slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Assuie displaying calm under pressure there.

Assuie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Buddha works his way to full guard. Good work.
Buddha wants to control but Assuie passes easily into half guard.
Buddha gets back to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Buddha tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Assuie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Assuie has control of an arm but Buddha manages to advance to Assuie's back!
Assuie wants to get back to his feet.

Buddha looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Assuie is controlling Buddha 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
Assuie trying to control the position from guard on top but Buddha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Buddha is adopting a defensive guard.
Buddha is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Buddha escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Assuie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Assuie trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Buddha not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yoel Assuie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Assuie stays in close to Buddha's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Assuie working some strikes from top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Assuie stands up over Buddha, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Buddha keeping moving, preventing Assuie from controlling successfully.

Assuie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A big left from Buddha misses.
Assuie lands a leg kick that knocks Buddha off balance momentarily.
Assuie throws a series of punches but Buddha moves out of range.
Buddha lands with a shot to the body.
Buddha getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Buddha lands a nice looking body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Assuie darts in and clinches Buddha up against the cage.
Assuie is trying to force a seperation but Buddha has the dominant position.
Assuie tries to pull guard but Buddha forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Buddha is working for takedown but Assuie is calmly controlling the position for now.
A frustrated look appears on Assuie's face as he tries to break the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Assuie fails to land.
Assuie misses with a punch on the inside.
Buddha lands a nice shot to the body.
Assuie tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Buddha has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Assuie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Assuie avoids a punch combination nicely.
Buddha scores with a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buddha ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Assuie moves away.
Assuie half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Ghandi Buddha seems to be getting the better of the standup.
No luck for Buddha with that takedown attempt.
The fighters circle momentarily. Buddha darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Buddha misses with a shot to the body
and Assuie counters with a left to the body.
Buddha misses the shot to the body.
Buddha dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Assuie. That did some damage!
Buddha shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Assuie as he avoids it easily.
Yoel Assuie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ghandi Buddha.

A bone on bone clash there as Buddha blocks the leg kick.

Buddha misses with a double jab.
Assuie is looking for a counter combo.
Buddha looks to land a combination but Assuie avoids it well.
Buddha pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Assuie avoids the body shot from Buddha.
Assuie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Assuie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Buddha.
Assuie swinging wildly here.

Assuie lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Buddha at a distance.
Buddha throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Buddha lands a nice leg kick that just misses Assuie's sensitive parts.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Buddha moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Buddha throws a shot to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ghandi Buddha comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Buddha has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ghandi Buddha spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
