Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kato Ohtani (ranked 3540 p4p, 382 weight class) and Micky Trudo (ranked 5502 p4p, 536 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micky Trudo!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trudo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ohtani.
Micky Trudo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trudo closes the distance and clinches.

Trudo breaks the clinch.
Trudo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ohtani definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Some wild striking there from Trudo.
Trudo dodges the punch combination from Ohtani.
A jab from Ohtani misses.
Trudo lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Trudo dodges the punch combination from Ohtani.
Trudo looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ohtani scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ohtani misses with a double jab.
Ohtani tries to bum rush Trudo with a series of wild strikes but Trudo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ohtani takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Trudo pushes Ohtani up against the cage in a clinch.

Trudo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ohtani throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ohtani misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Trudo clinches up with Ohtani and pushes him back against the cage.
Trudo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Trudo breaks from the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Trudo jabs Ohtani to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Trudo dodges the punch combination from Ohtani.
A left and a right from Trudo both land. Nice combination.
Ohtani takes one to the chin there.
Ohtani swats away the attempt to clinch by Trudo.
Ohtani throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Trudo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ohtani throws a nice looking combination but Trudo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Trudo rushes Ohtani and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Ohtani is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Trudo piles on the pressure and Ohtani crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Micky Trudo!
