PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seunkyo Jung (ranked 6361 p4p, 191 weight class) and Ivar The Viking (ranked 6064 p4p, 180 weight class). The Viking has chosen Vikings Hunt-by VENOM as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seunkyo Jung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ivar The Viking!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jung misses with a series of wild punches.
Jung is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
As Jung backs off The Viking throws a huge counter combo but Jung manages to avoid it all.
The Viking avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The Viking slips under a jab from Jung.
Seunkyo Jung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jung darts in and clinches The Viking up against the cage.
Jung pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Jung breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jung will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jung wants to clinch

so The Viking counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jung working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from The Viking.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Viking throws a big right hand that misses.
The Viking postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jung knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Viking on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The Viking with a flurry of punches that miss.
The Viking stays in close to Jung's body and controls the position.
The Viking passes Jung's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The Viking decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Jung tries to clinch there but The Viking circles away.
The Viking feints the counter takedown.
Jung wants to clinch.
The Viking keeps the fight on the outside.
The Viking avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The Viking is looking for the big counter here.
The Viking fails to land with a series of punches.

Jung gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jung wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
The Viking blocks a body shot from Jung.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The Viking breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jung fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jung tries to clinch up.

The Viking drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The Viking passes into half guard.

The Viking decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Jung could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jung tries to close the distance and clinch but The Viking swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The Viking gets tackled into the cage by Jung. Jung maintains the clinch.
Jung lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

The Viking turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

The Viking stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jung keeps the fight on the outside.
Seunkyo Jung is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jung closes the distance and pushes The Viking back into the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The Viking takes a knee right on the jaw!
Jung trying to stall but The Viking improves his position.

The Viking's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The Viking darts in and clinches Jung up against the cage.
Jung trying to control the position but instead, The Viking has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jung into the cage.
Jung tries to land knees in the clinch but The Viking avoids the damage to the body.

Jung breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The Viking tries to clinch up.
The Viking throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jung tries to clinch but The Viking moves out of range.

Jung gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The Viking showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The Viking tries to free his leg and advance position but Jung is retaining full guard.
The Viking works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The Viking takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jung keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivar The Viking dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jung.
Jung throws out a leg kick but The Viking moves out of range and Jung only half commits.
Jung tries to close the distance and clinch but The Viking swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The Viking wants to clinch.
Jung tries to clinch up.
Seunkyo Jung is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jung pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jung misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jung doesn't manage to clinch there - The Viking circles away.

The Viking closes the distance and clinches.

The Viking has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jung clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Jung is trying to stand back up.

Jung is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The Viking is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Jung won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips The Viking off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ivar The Viking!
