Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damone Shaw (ranked 6341 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karlovecz David (ranked 8543 p4p, 0 weight class). Karlovecz David will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Damone Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karlovecz David!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shaw.


It looks like Karlovecz David has been cut.
David avoids a punch combination nicely.
David shoots in but Shaw avoids the takedown attempt easily.
David tries for a takedown but Shaw circles away easily

and Shaw counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
David fails to pull guard.
Damone Shaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlovecz David.
Shaw has had enough of the clinch but David keeps him there for the moment.
David is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
David just leaning against Shaw, taking a breather.

David keeps control of Shaw as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

David's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

David gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shaw to score an easy takedown into full guard.

David pushes Shaw off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

David throws a series of punches but Shaw avoids them all with ease.
David blocks a head kick by Shaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
David shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shaw as he jumps to the side.
David misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sloppy strikes from Shaw. Those never looked like landing.
As Shaw backs off David throws a huge counter combo but Shaw manages to avoid it all.

David darts in and clinches Shaw up against the cage.

David jumps guard and drags Shaw to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Shaw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Shaw trying to control but David is working from the bottom.

David pulls Shaw in close to prevent any damage.
Shaw looking to pass the guard.
Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for David on the ground.
Shaw wants to stand and escape but instead David has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Shaw might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Shaw trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
David's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
David is pushing down on Shaw's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shaw is fighting to maintain full guard but David has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shaw has a hand on David's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. David takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Karlovecz David will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


David darts in looking for a takedown but Shaw gets double underhooks and turns David into the cage.
Horrible takedown attempt by David or perhaps it was just good defense by Shaw, which made it look bad.
Shaw tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. David manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from David! But no joy.
David showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Shaw.
Shaw tries to clinch but David moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from David as Shaw shoots in.
David misses with a double jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from David enables Shaw to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. David manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

David pushes Shaw off and gets back to his feet.
David is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Danga de danga de dang - David scores with a four punch combination!

David has Shaw up against the cage in a clinch.

Shaw breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shaw shoots for a double leg takedown but David sprawls well. He's pushed Shaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shaw misses with the combination.
Shaw tries to bum rush David with a series of wild strikes but David uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

David closes the distance and pushes Shaw back into the cage.
David slows down the pace here.
Shaw is looking for a takedown up against the cage. David gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

David drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Shaw gets the underhooks and prevents it.

David decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

David changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shaw tries to avoid it but David manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shaw to the ground. Shaw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
David tries to clinch but Shaw moves out of range.
David has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

David is trying to pull guard but Shaw has him pressed against the cage.
Shaw could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shaw has had enough of the clinch but David keeps him there for the moment.
Shaw prevents the takedown attempt.
David is defending well against a takedown attempt.
David is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Shaw is defending well.
Shaw wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

David breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karlovecz David showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Shaw keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Shaw stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shaw wants it to stay on the feet.
Shaw feints a jab promting David to slip. Shaw then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. David slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Shaw throws a head kick that misses.
Shaw tries a head kick but it misses.
Shaw steps to the side to avoid the strikes from David.
Shaw tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Shaw throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

David closes the distance and pushes Shaw back into the cage.
David has Shaw pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shaw manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

David lands a body shot in the clinch.

David manages to break the clinch.

David has closed the distance and engaged Shaw in a clinch.
Shaw is looking to break free of the clinch but David has double underhooks.
David stalling.
David will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Shaw up against the cage.

David has Shaw pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. David pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shaw tumbling to the mat - David dives into Shaw's guard.
Shaw is wriggling around but David manages to pass to half guard.

David is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shaw defends it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
David not doing much here.

David decides to stand and escape the position.
Damone Shaw is winning the standup battle so far.
Shaw checks a leg kick.
An attempted straight right counter from Shaw misses the target.

David scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
David happy to just control the position for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

David has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Karlovecz David.
I've got David winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
