Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Osama Akharraz (ranked 3183 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clinton Smaxsons (ranked 3191 p4p, 0 weight class). Smaxsons has chosen "X gon' give it to ya" by DMX as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akharraz cracks Smaxsons with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A big left from Smaxsons misses.
As Smaxsons looks to move away, Akharraz throws a big counter combo but Smaxsons just gets out of the way.
Akharraz rushes Smaxsons and presses him up against the cage.
Akharraz manages to break the clinch.
Clinton Smaxsons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smaxsons throws a lazy right hand but Akharraz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Akharraz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Smaxsons throws a poor cross that misses
and Akharraz counters with a crisp one two that drops Smaxsons! Akharraz thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Smaxsons to his feet! Smaxsons is in big trouble!
Smaxsons is rocked!
Smaxsons misses the jab.
Smaxsons is still on wobbly legs! Can Akharraz finish him?
Smaxsons misses with an uppercut.
Smaxsons swings widly with a right hand
and Akharraz counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Smaxsons off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Akharraz follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Smaxsons was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Osama Akharraz!
Clinton Smaxsons was interviewed post fight and said 'Much respect to my opponent and he has my full respect. I'll be back to avenge this loss. I have plenty of growth in me and I'll keep training hard. '.
