PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Huma Krynn (ranked 9531 p4p, 718 weight class) and David Dupuis (ranked 5122 p4p, 506 weight class). Dupuis has chosen Out for a Rip by Brendan Richmond as his entrance music. Huma Krynn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 32 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Huma Krynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Dupuis!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dupuis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Krynn throws out the jab.
Dupuis drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Krynn defends it well.
Krynn looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Dupuis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Dupuis trying to control but Krynn is working from the bottom.
Dupuis postures up in Krynn's guard and throws a big left but Krynn blocks it.
Krynn keeping moving, preventing Dupuis from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dupuis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Krynn throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Dupuis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dupuis gets the takedown into side control.
Dupuis in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Dupuis throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Check out the look on Dupuis's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Dupuis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Krynn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dupuis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Krynn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Dupuis trying to control the position but Krynn is working away.

Dupuis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Let's hope that Dupuis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Dupuis sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Krynn is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dupuis tries to score with some ground and pound. Krynn controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Dupuis is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Dupuis throws an elbow but Krynn slips to the side and avoids it well.

Dupuis has an Americana. Krynn didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Dupuis is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Dupuis hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). David Dupuis!
Post fight, an emotional David Dupuis said 'I win this time, Huma!... Wait, that wasn't him I fought, but Bato? Sheeeeit... I'm smokin' too much herb!'.
