Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Hard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Smith!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hard wants to stand but Smith is controlling the position.
Smith wants to stand but Hard has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Smith looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Smith won't allow Hard to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hard's guard.
Smith stops Hard from standing up.

Hard has a closed guard, preventing Smith from standing up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Smith drives through with a takedown into Hard's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Smith is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Hard is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea.
Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hard wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Hard displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Joe Smith has been cut.
Smith drops his hands for a split second and Hard immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Smith face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Hard follows up with a right hand that knocks Smith into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
