PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Tank (ranked 3981 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Fraser (ranked 23180 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Tank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Fraser!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tank throws a lazy right hand but Fraser sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Tank looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Fraser manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Fraser misses with a takedown attempt - Tank sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fraser enables Tank to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fraser manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fraser is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Tank showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tank pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fraser is keeping the position for now.
Fraser looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Tank controlling from the top position.

Fraser looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Tank just misses with a punch to the body.
Tank slaps away a takedown attempt from Fraser, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Tank dives in and scores a takedown into Fraser's guard.
Tank is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tank trying to control but Fraser is working from the bottom.
Tank passes Fraser's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Tank is trying to control. Fraser wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fraser is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Tank is working for a kimura here but Fraser manages to reverse the position and he's now in Tank's guard.
Fraser trying to control but Tank is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tank wants to sweep but no luck.
Tank pulls Fraser in to control the position.
Tank on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tank tries to get out of the position.
Tank keeping moving, preventing Fraser from controlling successfully.

Fraser drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fraser jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tank tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Fraser must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fraser is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fraser throws a sloppy head kick

and Tank counters with a shoot takedown. Fraser fights it but they end up in guard.
Tank showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Tank's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tank wants to pass the guard but Fraser is keeping the position.
Tank advances position into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Tank dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Fraser gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tank passes Fraser's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tank seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Tank is working for a submission of some sort.
Thomas Tank overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fraser won't allow Tank to pass to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fraser regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tank slips nicely into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tank thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fraser's head.
Fraser is looking to control Tank's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fraser avoid being mounted?

Fraser pushes Tank off and gets back to his feet.
Tank is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fraser can do to turn this around?
Tank throws a body shot but no joy.
Fraser tries a head kick but it misses.
Fraser shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tank as he jumps to the side.
Fraser fails with the takedown.

Tank darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tank wants to free his trapped foot but Fraser is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tank is working hard here to advance position.
Tank moves into full mount! Fraser won't be happy about that!
Tank controlling his opponent.
Tank misses with some ground and pound and Fraser recovers position to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tank tries to pass to full mount but Fraser defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tank seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fraser does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tank looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Tank is trying for a kimura here. Fraser looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Tank wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Thomas Tank!
