Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy DeVito (ranked 1243 p4p, 171 weight class) and Pierre St George (ranked 1570 p4p, 205 weight class). Pierre St George will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy DeVito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pierre St George!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St George connects with a body shot that sends DeVito's belly button to the back.
DeVito tries to clinch but St George is having none of it.
St George throws out a counter right but DeVito avoids it with no problem.
DeVito moves in looking to clinch but St George pushes him off.
St George circles away from the clinch attempt.

DeVito moves into range and clinches up with St George.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, St George just misses with a elbow thrown towards DeVito's brow.

St George breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
St George is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. DeVito is defending well for now.
DeVito struggles to land a body shot inside as St George controls his hands.

St George's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
St George missing with a left hand there. DeVito was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

St George tries to keep at a distance but DeVito has taken the fight into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for St George.
DeVito misses with the head strike.
DeVito has a couple of punches blocked by St George.
DeVito tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

That's one minute gone in the round.

St George breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

DeVito moves into the clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for DeVito.
DeVito has a couple of punches blocked by St George.
A quick uppercut on the inside from DeVito.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from DeVito.
I was talking to DeVito's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
DeVito makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

DeVito has St George pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. DeVito pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending St George tumbling to the mat - DeVito dives into St George's guard.
St George looking for a sweep. Not yet St George, not yet.
DeVito pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. St George is keeping the position for now.
DeVito slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
DeVito misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
DeVito wants to lay and pray for a moment but St George keeps working.
St George is trying to control DeVito's posture but DeVito avoids it.

DeVito is trying to get an arm triangle but St George is defending well.
You can see the frustration on St George's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
DeVito advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
DeVito trying to control but he's not successful this time.
St George wants to control but DeVito is having none of it.
DeVito wants to control the pace but St George is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
DeVito working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
DeVito throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for St George because DeVito loaded up on that one.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
St George is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, DeVito has taken his back.
St George looking very determined here, making life difficult for DeVito.

DeVito is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged St George with him. St George is trying to defend but DeVito has an arm under the chin now! St George grimaces and is forced to tap out!
