Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Asu Kuren (ranked 1300 p4p, 181 weight class) and Dale Bomber (ranked 2622 p4p, 331 weight class). Dale Bomber has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Asu Kuren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dale Bomber!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomber throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bomber thuds a left hand into Kuren's body.
Kuren is looking to clinch but Bomber is avoiding it.

Kuren has closed the distance and engaged Bomber in a clinch.

Kuren has clasped his hands together around Bomber's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Bomber tries to buck Kuren off but Kuren is having none of it.
Bomber parries the strikes from Kuren easily there. Kuren is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bomber to escape.

Kuren misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Kuren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bomber is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kuren's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Kuren is nestled in close to Bomber, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bomber felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Bomber is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kuren not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Kuren is keen to just control but Bomber is a slippery customer.

Kuren seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bomber does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kuren is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bomber is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bomber is trying to maintain the position but Kuren is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kuren moves in looking to clinch but Bomber pushes him off.
It seemed like Bomber was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Bomber just misses with a punch to the body.
Kuren looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bomber misses with a head kick.
Kuren on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Kuren has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bomber tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Kuren blocking some punches.
Bomber is looking to control Kuren's arms but Kuren gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bomber has his back to the cage.
Bomber misses with the head strike.

Bomber lands with a light punch inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bomber.

Kuren is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bomber is defending well.
I was talking to Kuren's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Nice body punch from Bomber - that landed with a thud.
Kuren changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bomber fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Bomber misses with a few strikes there.
Kuren moves out of range of the body kick from Bomber.
Kuren closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Kuren counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bomber!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kuren moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Bomber is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kuren has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Bomber is not content to let Kuren control the position.
Kuren scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bomber to see if he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters circle momentarily. Bomber darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Bomber instigates a clinch.
Bomber stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The referee calls for Bomber to work.
Bomber has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bomber has a couple of punches blocked by Kuren.
Bomber lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
A nice left hand lands by Bomber.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kuren tries to score a body lock takedown but Bomber shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kuren is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Bomber is pressed up against the cage. Kuren has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bomber down to the mat. Bomber avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Kuren is working for takedown but Bomber is calmly controlling the position for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bomber's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Kuren is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bomber is defending well.

Kuren is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bomber gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bomber lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Oh Kuren is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bomber lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bomber unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Kuren! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Bomber is unloading with more strikes now! Kuren drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dale Bomber!
