Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Algot Uggla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Lewis!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Uggla shoots in and bounces Lewis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lewis being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis wants to stand up but Uggla is controlling him.

Uggla drops back looking for a leg! Lewis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lewis manages to kick Uggla off! Uggla jumps back into Lewis's guard.
Uggla prevents Lewis from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Uggla missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lewis being controlled here, momentarily.
Lewis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Uggla slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Uggla shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lewis wants to get back to his feet but Uggla is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Uggla distracts Lewis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Lewis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Uggla controls the pace.
Uggla chips away with some ground and pound.

Uggla drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Uggla jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Uggla is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lewis wants to stand but Uggla is controlling the position.
Uggla is in close to Lewis's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Lewis wants to stand but Uggla is controlling the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Uggla's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Uggla has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lewis wants to stand up but Uggla is controlling him.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Uggla wants to pass the guard but Lewis is keeping the position.
Uggla stops Lewis from standing up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Lewis looks to land a right hand but Uggla moved out of range.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Uggla swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lewis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Uggla moves out of range as Lewis strikes.
Uggla displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lewis throws out the jab.
Lewis wants to clinch.
Lewis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lewis wants it to stay on the feet.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Uggla swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Uggla throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lewis was covering up waiting for the punch and Uggla finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Uggla won't allow Lewis to get back to his feet.

Uggla drops back looking for a leg! Lewis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lewis manages to kick Uggla off! Uggla jumps back into Lewis's guard.
Lewis wants to stand up but Uggla is controlling him.
Lewis keeping full guard, as Uggla tries to pass.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Uggla won't allow Lewis to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Algot Uggla dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Uggla throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lewis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Uggla is in Lewis's guard.
Uggla is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Uggla is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Uggla prevents Lewis from getting back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lewis can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Uggla has gone for a leg lock! Lewis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Uggla's guard.

Uggla might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Uggla has Lewis pulled in close to control his posture.
Uggla has a closed guard, preventing Lewis from standing up.

Uggla bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lewis's guard.

Algot Uggla overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lewis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Uggla looking to pass the guard.
Lewis wants to stand up but Uggla is controlling him.
Uggla is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lewis can do to turn this around?
Uggla is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lewis is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Uggla dives into side control.
Uggla prevents Lewis from escaping the position.

Lewis is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Uggla take his back! Uh oh - Uggla has got a rear naked choke here! Lewis is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Algot Uggla!
After the fight, Algot Uggla was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
