PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jean Howell (ranked 8410 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doodoo Mcgoo (ranked 25152 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jean Howell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doodoo Mcgoo!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Howell checks a leg kick.

Mcgoo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Howell tries to bench press Mcgoo off him but Mcgoo keeps the position.
Mcgoo creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcgoo moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Howell is trying to improve his position.
Howell is pushing Mcgoo's head away, looking to escape. Mcgoo manages to hold on to the position though.
Mcgoo lands some shots froms side control.
Howell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mcgoo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mcgoo stands up.
Mcgoo tries a head kick but it misses.
Howell tries to counter with a takedown but Mcgoo is quick to defend against it.
Howell doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mcgoo counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Howell is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mcgoo dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Howell has had enough and taps out.
