The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Springfield shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yokohama pinned against the cage. Yokohama gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Yokohama throws a sloppy body shot
and Springfield counters with a left and a right that stings Yokohama.
Yokohama lands a jab-cross combination.
Yokohama lands a glancing blow to the side of Springfield's head.
Springfield throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yokohama's waist but Yokohama gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Springfield off to one side.
Yokohama scores with a hook.
Springfield misses with a looping left.
Springfield shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yokohama but Yokohama pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Saito Yokohama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bayley Springfield.
Yokohama avoids the head kick by Springfield.

Springfield throws a hook to the side of Yokohama's head but Yokohama sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Springfield is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yokohama sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Springfield dives in and grabs Yokohama's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yokohama pushes down on Springfield's head and hops out.
Springfield avoids a punch combination nicely.

Bayley Springfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A left and a right from Yokohama both land. Nice combination.

Springfield shoots in looking for a takedown but Yokohama manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Springfield's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Yokohama misses with a double jab
and Springfield counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Springfield has hold of Yokohama's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Yokohama seems comfortable defending it but Springfield has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Yokohama is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Yokohama is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Springfield couldn't care less - he's delighted!
