Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scedary shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hodges kicks Scedary off and gets back to his feet.

Scedary looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hodges connects with a couple of short punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hodges drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Scedary manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hodges has Scedary in his guard.

Scedary stands and steps away. Hodges gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Hodges shoots in and bounces Scedary off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Scedary is looking to stand back up but Hodges counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Scedary.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scedary wants to control the action here but instead Hodges manages to pass to full mount!
Scedary really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hodges. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Scedary tries to hold on but Hodges pushes him away.

Scedary slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Hodges is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Scedary is looking for a sweep. Hodges is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Scedary pushes Hodges off but Hodges dives into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Scedary shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hodges is trying to defend but Scedary finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Scedary must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hodges turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hodges manages to end up in side control.

Scedary is trying to stand. He's onto all fours with Hodges on his back. Hodges looks like he's slipping off but he's actually tansitioning to a beautiful armbar! Scedary has to tap out to a very impressive submission!
