Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jez Beltran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zeke Zooralangui!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zooralangui throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Beltran was covering up waiting for the punch and Zooralangui finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Zooralangui looking to sit in guard and control but Beltran gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Zooralangui will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Zooralangui wants to sweep but no luck.
Beltran prevents Zooralangui from getting back to his feet.
Zooralangui should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Beltran trying to control the position from guard on top but Zooralangui is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beltran won't allow Zooralangui to sweep him here.
Beltran works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beltran stops Zooralangui from getting back to his feet.

Beltran is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zooralangui doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Beltran.
Zooralangui wants to get back to full guard but Beltran has mounted him!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Zooralangui is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Beltran can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zooralangui is looking to escape.
Zooralangui tries to hold on but Beltran postures up.
Zooralangui is looking to improve his position but Beltran isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beltran lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Zooralangui hang on?
Zooralangui is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Zooralangui manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Zooralangui is trying to control but can't.

Zooralangui wants to get back to full guard.
Zooralangui is looking to control Beltran's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Zooralangui avoid being mounted?
Zooralangui is not content to let Beltran control the position.

Beltran is really struggling to control Zooralangui but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Zooralangui tries to roll over but Beltran keeps him under control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Beltran is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Beltran rushes Zooralangui and presses him up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Zooralangui looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Zooralangui is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Beltran is just riding it out for now. Zooralangui eventually gives up the hold.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Zooralangui tries to clinch but Beltran moves out of range.

Beltran throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Zooralangui counters with a shoot takedown. Beltran fights it but they end up in guard.
Zooralangui is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Beltran is looking to stand up but Zooralangui isn't so interested in that idea.
Beltran on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Beltran tries to get out of the position.

Zooralangui sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Zooralangui won't allow Beltran to get back to his feet.
Zooralangui lands a couple of elbows.

Beltran had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zooralangui defends it easily.
Zooralangui wants to get up but he can't break Beltran's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Zooralangui stands up from Beltran's guard - Zooralangui perhaps looking for a knockout.
Zooralangui tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Beltran manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Zooralangui tries to close the distance and clinch but Beltran swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Beltran forces Zooralangui back against the cage and clinches.
Zooralangui can't break the clinch.
Zooralangui wants to break the clinch but can't.
Zooralangui jumps guard but Beltran stands there with Zooralangui around his waist. Zooralangui gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Beltran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Beltran shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zooralangui as he jumps to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jez Beltran will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Zooralangui fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beltran sprawls well initially but Zooralangui persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Zooralangui wants to free his trapped foot but Beltran is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Zooralangui is thwarting Beltran's attempts to control the position.
Zooralangui wants to pass to mount but Beltran is defending the position.

Zooralangui throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Beltran to regain full guard.

Zooralangui wants to stand and escape but instead Beltran has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zooralangui holds on and takes a little breather.
Beltran won't allow Zooralangui to sweep him here.
Zooralangui is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Zooralangui is looking to sweep but instead, Beltran has passed into half guard.

Beltran takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Beltran moves nicely into side control.
Zooralangui is looking to reverse the position.
Zooralangui looking for a sweep but Beltran has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Zooralangui wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Beltran postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zooralangui looks a forlorn figure.

Zooralangui is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Beltran connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Beltran trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Zooralangui is trying to stand up.

Beltran wants to control the pace but Zooralangui is squirming around nicely.
Zooralangui is working to get back to half guard.
Beltran controlling his opponent.
Beltran looking to finish Zooralangui with some ground and pound. This is bad for Zooralangui!

Well Beltran has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
