Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandar Kamenov (ranked 2243 p4p, 296 weight class) and Zsiga Venczel (ranked 917 p4p, 126 weight class). Kamenov comes to the cage accompanied by Korn - Hey Daddy. On his way into the cage it seems that Aleksandar Kamenov has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Aleksandar Kamenov seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aleksandar Kamenov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zsiga Venczel!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venczel misses with a hook.
Kamenov tried to counter with a leg kick but Venczel avoided it.
Venczel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Kamenov drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Venczel wants to hit a switch here but Kamenov passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Venczel there!
Venczel can't escape the position.
Kamenov controlling the position easily from mount.
Venczel is squirming around, avoiding Kamenov's attempts to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kamenov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Venczel tries to get to full guard but Kamenov has control of the leg.

Kamenov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Kamenov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Venczel is looking for a sweep.

Kamenov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Venczel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Venczel manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Venczel looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Venczel not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Well, if Venczel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kamenov dives in and grabs Venczel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Venczel pushes down on Kamenov's head and hops out.

Venczel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kamenov is working away from the top position though.

Kamenov stands up and beckons Venczel to join him on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kamenov pushes Venczel off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Venczel just misses with a punch to the body.
Venczel connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Venczel stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksandar Kamenov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kamenov shoots for a double leg takedown but Venczel sprawls well. He's pushed Kamenov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kamenov or perhaps it was just good defense by Venczel, which made it look bad.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Venczel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kamenov has time to react.

Venczel closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kamenov did well to prevent Venczel getting side control.

Venczel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kamenov defends it well.

Venczel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kamenov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kamenov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Venczel is working away from the top position though.
Kamenov seems to have got his legs back now.

Venczel winds up and cracks Kamenov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Venczel working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Venczel working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Venczel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Zsiga Venczel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kamenov closes the distance and clinches up with Venczel, looking for a takedown. Kamenov pushes Venczel against the cage but Venczel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kamenov shoots in for a takedown but Venczel shows good takedown defense.
Kamenov shoots in looking for a takedown but Venczel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kamenov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Venczel drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Kamenov right on the button. Kamenov goes down! Venczel follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Venczel gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zsiga Venczel!
Zsiga Venczel really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Bullet Proof System logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
