Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Laat Dovah-Kinn (ranked 1927 p4p, 259 weight class) and Shintaro Nomo (ranked 1192 p4p, 159 weight class). Dovah-Kinn comes into the arena with Disturbed - Immortalized blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Laat Dovah-Kinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Shintaro Nomo!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nomo throws the left hand but Dovah-Kinn avoids the punch easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nomo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nomo tests Dovah-Kinn's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dovah-Kinn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nomo sizes up Dovah-Kinn with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Nomo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Nomo keeps the fight on the outside.
No joy there for Dovah-Kinn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dovah-Kinn takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nomo misses with a hook
and Dovah-Kinn counters with a good low kick that Nomo was not able to check.
Dovah-Kinn fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dovah-Kinn slips a straight right by Nomo.
Nomo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dovah-Kinn's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nomo looks to throw the jab but Dovah-Kinn is out of range.

Dovah-Kinn takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nomo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nomo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dovah-Kinn manages to avoid it.
Nomo lands a right hook to the body.
Dovah-Kinn takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Nomo misses with a looping left.
Dovah-Kinn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nomo.
Nomo closes the distance and clinches up with Dovah-Kinn, looking for a takedown. Nomo pushes Dovah-Kinn against the cage but Dovah-Kinn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It looks like Shintaro Nomo has been cut.

Nomo gets a clinch.
Nomo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dovah-Kinn has him pressed against the cage.
Dovah-Kinn is pressed up against the cage. Nomo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dovah-Kinn down to the mat. Dovah-Kinn avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Laat Dovah-Kinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shintaro Nomo.

Nomo lands a nice shot to the body.
Dovah-Kinn walks into a left hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dovah-Kinn tries to throw a body punch but Nomo avoids it by throwing Dovah-Kinn back against the cage.
Nomo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Dovah-Kinn misses with a short punch on the inside.
Nomo tries for a takedown. No joy.
A head punch on the inside from Dovah-Kinn fails to land.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Dovah-Kinn.

Dovah-Kinn misses with a hook to the ribs.
Dovah-Kinn lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Nomo backwards.
Nomo is trying to pull guard but Dovah-Kinn has him pressed against the cage.
Nomo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dovah-Kinn walks away with a smile on his face. Nomo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A jab from Nomo misses.
Dovah-Kinn lands a jab to the nose.
Nomo lands a lovely overhand right.
Nomo lunges at Dovah-Kinn with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dovah-Kinn's hand.
Nomo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nomo might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Nomo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dovah-Kinn manages to avoid it.
Dovah-Kinn fires out a quick counter leg kick but Nomo just manages to avoid it.

It looks like Laat Dovah-Kinn has been cut.
Dovah-Kinn throws a poor cross that misses
letting Nomo counter with a right hand.
Dovah-Kinn moves out of range of the strikes.
The crowd cheers as Dovah-Kinn lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nomo doesn't seem phased though.
Nomo connects with a looping right hand.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dovah-Kinn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Nomo is refusing to be controlled, as Dovah-Kinn sits in half guard.

Dovah-Kinn is stalling here. Nomo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dovah-Kinn seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nomo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That's time! Dovah-Kinn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Dovah-Kinn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Laat Dovah-Kinn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Dovah-Kinn misses with a hook.

Dovah-Kinn lands a big right hand that sends Nomo crashing to the mat! Dovah-Kinn stays standing though and waves Nomo back to his feet!


Nomo is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nomo swings for the body but Dovah-Kinn moves out of range.
Nomo is still on wobbly legs! Can Dovah-Kinn finish him?
Dovah-Kinn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nomo as he avoids it easily.
Nomo only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Nomo seems to have recovered his senses.
Nomo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dovah-Kinn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dovah-Kinn changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Dovah-Kinn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nomo swivels and escapes.
Nomo now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Laat Dovah-Kinn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The cut above Shintaro Nomo's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Nomo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dovah-Kinn drops his hands momentarily and Nomo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Nomo ducks under a wild hook from Dovah-Kinn.
Nomo looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Dovah-Kinn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nomo.
Dovah-Kinn changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Dovah-Kinn connects with a leg kick. Nomo looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Nomo misses the jab.
Nomo just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromDovah-Kinn.

and Dovah-Kinn makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Shintaro Nomo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dovah-Kinn enables Nomo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dovah-Kinn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Nomo is looking to take a break and control but Dovah-Kinn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nomo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Nomo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Dovah-Kinn wants to hold on but Nomo pushes him away.
Nomo prevents Dovah-Kinn from getting the reversal.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nomo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

And that's the end of the fight!
Laat Dovah-Kinn showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Nomo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
