Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cub Lamas (ranked 9072 p4p, 0 weight class) and L Manning Hines (ranked 3505 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lamas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dominica Music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cub Lamas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, L Manning Hines!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Lamas is looking to clinch but Hines is avoiding it.
Hines connects with a body shot.
Lamas closes the distance but Hines moves to the side
letting Hines counter with a right hand.
Lamas throws a lazy right hand but Hines sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hines misses the shot to the body.
Lamas seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Lamas forces Hines back against the cage and clinches.
Lamas lands a shoulder strike.
Lamas misses with the head strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lamas throws a punch but it's blocked by Hines.
Hines throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Lamass head.
Lamas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Still in the clinch, Lamas scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hines blocks a body shot from Lamas.

Lamas lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hines backwards.
Hines misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lamas throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hiness head.
Lamas has a couple of punches blocked by Hines.
Hines tries to throw a body punch but Lamas avoids it by throwing Hines back against the cage.
Lamas misses with the head strike.
Lamas wants to get back to striking at distance but Hines won't allow it.
Lamas tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hines's elbow.
Hines tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Lamas lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Hines slows down the pace here.
Lamas misses with a short punch on the inside.

Hines blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hines is trying to pull guard but Lamas turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Lamas tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Lamas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hines circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lamas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lamas throws a big shot that misses.

Hines ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lamas moves away.

Lamas instigates a clinch.
Hines works on Lamas's body with a couple of short punches.
Lamas swings wildly with an uppercut but Hines uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lamas lands a nice uppercut.

Hines jumps guard and drags Lamas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hines is on top in guard.


Hines thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lamas keeping moving, preventing Hines from controlling successfully.
Hines might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lamas haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Hines looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Hines gets to his feet. Lamas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cub Lamas will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Lamas lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hines doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lamas goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Hines escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lamas has closed the distance and engaged Hines in a clinch.
Hines blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Hines has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
The fighters circling - Hines throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
It looked like Lamas was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and Hines counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hines scores with a decent looking hook.

Lamas clinches up against the cage.

Lamas breaks from the clinch.
Lamas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hines manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hines lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Cub Lamas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Hines counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Hines feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lamas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hines on the ground.
Hines advances to half guard.

Lamas is looking for a sweep. Hines is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hines maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lamas could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Hines has cracked it and Lamas is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Hines!
