Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Boone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 40 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Eikmeyer!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eikmeyer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Boone to the ground. Eikmeyer is now in Boone's guard.

Boone is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Eikmeyer presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Boone breaks the clinch.
Boone is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Eikmeyer.
Eikmeyer is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Boone fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Eikmeyer on the side of the head.
Boone throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Eikmeyer's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boone throws out a loose jab but Eikmeyer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Eikmeyer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Eikmeyer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Boone throws Eikmeyer to one side and escapes!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Eikmeyer.
Boone wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Eikmeyer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Boone shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Boone swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Eikmeyer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Boone is trying to stand up here but Eikmeyer is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Eikmeyer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Boone sees it coming and defends easily.

Eikmeyer seems to be looking for submissions.
Boone regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Eikmeyer.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Boone manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Boone pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Robert Boone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Eikmeyer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Boone cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Robert Boone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Eikmeyer.
A jab from Boone misses.
Eikmeyer is looking for the big counter here.
Boone displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Eikmeyer throws out the jab.
Eikmeyer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Boone defends it nicely.
Boone throwing a counter right hand but Eikmeyer manages to avoid it.
Boone misses with the combination.
Eikmeyer fails with the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boone stuffs the takedown.
Eikmeyer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Boone scores with a sloppy right hand. Eikmeyer should have avoided that one.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Boone drops Eikmeyer with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Eikmeyer looks back up at him and smiles so Boone waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Eikmeyer is rocked!


It looks like Mario Eikmeyer has been cut.
Eikmeyer drops his hands momentarily and Boone needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Eikmeyer just on the top of the head. Eikmeyer drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Eikmeyer - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Robert Boone!
During a confident post fight interview, Robert Boone thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
