Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rishi Darshan (ranked 7054 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pal Heindrich (ranked 23606 p4p, 0 weight class). Pal Heindrich will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rishi Darshan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pal Heindrich!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darshan misses with a series of wild punches.
Heindrich gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Darshan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Heindrich's guard.
Heindrich wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Heindrich looking for subs off his back but Darshan has passed one foot through into half guard.
Darshan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Heindrich wants to get back to full guard.

Heindrich wants to get back to full guard but Darshan has mounted him!
Heindrich is in all sorts of trouble here.
Heindrich tries to hold on but Darshan pushes him away.
You get the feeling that Heindrich really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Darshan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Darshan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Heindrich for as long as he can get away with.
Heindrich tries to lock up and control but Darshan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Heindrich is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Heindrich throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Heindrich wants to control but Darshan is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Darshan prevents Heindrich from getting the reversal.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Heindrich's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Heindrich tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Darshan closes the distance and pushes Heindrich back into the cage.

Heindrich can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Darshan controls the pace.
Darshan continues to stall.

Heindrich has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Darshan is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Heindrich.
The referee asks Darshan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Darshan prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Heindrich tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Darshan presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Heindrich is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Darshan is staying active.

Heindrich tries to get to full guard but Darshan has control of the leg.
Darshan wants to get back to his feet.

Heindrich pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Darshan closes the distance and pushes Heindrich back into the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Darshan breaks from the clinch.
Rishi Darshan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Heindrich tries to clinch but Darshan moves away

and Darshan counters with a takedown into side control.
Heindrich is looking to get back to his feet here but Darshan is keeping cool and he's managed to take Heindrich's back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Heindrich bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Heindrich tries a head kick but it misses.
Darshan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Heindrich can pounce on him.
Nice takedown defense from Darshan. No joy for Heindrich on that attempt.
Darshan looks for the body kick but Heindrich saw that one coming.
Rishi Darshan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Darshan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Heindrich tries to get to full guard but Darshan has control of the leg.

Heindrich is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Darshan pulls his head out easily.
Heindrich takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Heindrich is trying to control but can't.

Darshan decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Heindrich throws a series of punches but Darshan moves out of range.
Heindrich shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Darshan but Darshan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Darshan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Heindrich's guard.

Heindrich is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Darshan presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Heindrich is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Darshan is keeping busy.

Darshan manages to pull guard.

Heindrich wants to control from the top but Darshan keeps moving.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Heindrich working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Darshan wants to stand up but Heindrich is controlling him.
Heindrich wants to pass the guard but Darshan is keeping the position.
Heindrich throws a big elbow that misses.
Darshan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Darshan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Heindrich can do to turn this around?

Heindrich scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Heindrich wants to control from the top but Darshan keeps moving.

Heindrich has gone for a leg lock! Darshan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Heindrich's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Darshan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Heindrich is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Darshan defends well.
Pal Heindrich has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Heindrich controls Darshan momentarily but Darshan frees himself.
Darshan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Heindrich throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Darshan escapes and throws Heindrich's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Rishi Darshan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Darshan trying to control the position but Heindrich is working away.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Pal Heindrich.
I think Darshan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
