Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Blayze Sommer (ranked 1476 p4p, 187 weight class) and Justin Sane (ranked 1959 p4p, 231 weight class). Justin Sane has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blayze Sommer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Sane!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sommer throws a series of strikes that have Sane backpedaling.


It looks like Justin Sane has been cut.
Sommer misses with a body shot.
Sane shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sommer defends it nicely.
Sommer connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sane. Sane circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Sommer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sane moves away.
Sommer slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sane or perhaps it was just good defense by Sommer, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sane dives in for a single leg takedown but Sommer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Sane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sommer walks away with a smile on his face. Sane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sane fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sommer avoids it really well and circles away.
Sane tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sommer defends well and Sane ends up having to push Sommer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Sane tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sommer just stands there and leans against the cage.

Sane's coach down at Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Sane's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Sane shoots in for a takedown but Sommer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sommer is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Sane closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sommer circles away.
Blayze Sommer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sommer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Sommer feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sane sprawling to the canvas! Sane rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sommer finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sommer is pushing Sane's head away, looking to escape. Sane manages to hold on to the position though.
Sommer is not content to let Sane control the position.

Sane might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sommer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sommer is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sane asserts his dominance and retains side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sane wants to control but Sommer is keeping him busy.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sane is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Sommer wants to get back to his feet but Sane is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sane is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sommer!

Sane jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sommer is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sommer and Sane has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sane is looking to take a break and control but Sommer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sane remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sane seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Sommer is holding on tight.
Sommer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sommer tries to get out of the position.

Sane goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sommer is on top in guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
