Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abel Gutierrez (ranked 3091 p4p, 340 weight class) and Greg Jones (ranked 3744 p4p, 402 weight class). Gutierrez comes into the arena with The Fugees–03. Ready or Not blaring out of the sound system. Greg Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Greg Jones!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutierrez shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gutierrez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gutierrez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jones throws a right and a left that Gutierrez avoids nicely.
Gutierrez half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Gutierrez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
Despite the aggression on Jones's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gutierrez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.

Jones is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gutierrez asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Gutierrez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gutierrez lands a big elbow - Jones is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Gutierrez!

After the fight, Abel Gutierrez was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
