The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gracie throws a hook but Johnston avoids it easily.
Desaun Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie misses with a hook. Johnston ducked under it nicely.

Gracie shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnston manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Johnston is wriggling around but Gracie manages to pass to half guard.

Gracie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

It looks like Salvatore Johnston has been cut.
Johnston trying to hold on to Gracie's head to control him but Gracie postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie is nestled in close to Johnston, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Johnston could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gracie lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
