The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a left and a right that both miss

and Meyer moves into the clinch.
Carter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Meyer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Meyer tries to clinch there but Carter circles away.
Carter misses with the combination.
Meyer lands with a kick to the temple. Carter shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Shane Carter has been cut.

Carter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Meyer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Meyer keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Carter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
