Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fabricio Laranja (ranked 24005 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Calcavecchia (ranked 6104 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Calcavecchia. That's going to slow Laranja down.
Laranja has a takedown stuffed.
Laranja shoots in looking for a takedown but Calcavecchia manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Laranja's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Laranja goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Calcavecchia has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Laranja but great work by Calcavecchia.

Calcavecchia is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Laranja has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Laranja!

Calcavecchia remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well Calcavecchia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
