Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rene Conway (ranked 24786 p4p, 0 weight class) and Konani Lei (ranked 5962 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lei has taken the fight to the clinch.
Conway is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lei pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lei stops a takedown attempt from Conway.
Conway is trying to drag Lei to the mat but Lei just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rene Conway. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Conway is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Lei prevents a takedown attempt there.
Conway really is a fat lump.
A frustrated look appears on Conway's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Conway pulls guard successfully.
Lei wants to get up but he can't break Conway's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Conway is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conway lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Lei doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Conway has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lei wants to sweep but no luck.
Conway is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Lei wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Conway is now in half guard.
Lei on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Lei is looking to control Conway's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lei avoid being mounted?
Conway looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Lei is looking for a sweep. Conway is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Conway moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Lei.
Conway tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Conway lands a decent elbow from side control.

Conway thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Lei is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lei is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Conway is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Lei is bucking up trying to escape but Conway cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Conway lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Conway cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Lei tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lei really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Conway. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Conway controlling the pace for now.
Lei tries to hold on but Conway pushes him away.
Conway lands a big shot there that rocks Lei but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lei tries to hold on but Conway postures up.
Lei is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Conway's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Lei tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lei wants a takedown but no success here.
Conway is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lei to keep the fight standing.

Conway wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Conway goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lei prevents it.

Lei drives through and clinches with Conway against the cage.

Conway manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Conway bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lei's guard.

Conway postures up and lands a big shot to Lei's brow.
Conway makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Lei wants to stand and escape but Conway is having none of it.
Lei working a defensive guard but Conway manages to pass into side control anyway.
Conway lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lei down.

Conway has hold of Lei's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Lei seems comfortable defending it but Conway has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Lei is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Lei is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Conway couldn't care less - he's delighted!
