Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikke Niputtaja (ranked 2802 p4p, 370 weight class) and Simon Adebisi (ranked 3907 p4p, 485 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nikke Niputtaja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simon Adebisi!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adebisi displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Niputtaja looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Niputtaja shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Niputtaja showed some decent athleticism there.
Adebisi scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Niputtaja manages to mount him!
Niputtaja content just to control the position here.
Niputtaja seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Adebisi for as long as he can get away with.

Niputtaja moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Adebisi has worked his arm free - good work by Adebisi!
Adebisi has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Niputtaja controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Niputtaja continues to stall.

Niputtaja tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Niputtaja has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Niputtaja tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Adebisi is looking to reverse the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Niputtaja lands some shots froms side control.
Niputtaja moves into full mount!
Niputtaja scoring with strikes but Adebisi is staying in there.

Niputtaja looking for a guillotine from mount but Adebisi is having none of it.
Adebisi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Niputtaja with the ground and pound from mount.
Niputtaja lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Niputtaja has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Adebisi's face.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Adebisi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Niputtaja cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Adebisi is bucking up trying to escape but Niputtaja cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Niputtaja landing strikes from the mount.
Niputtaja takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Adebisi is trying to escape the mount but Niputtaja keeps good control and instead manages to take Adebisi's back.
Niputtaja is riding his opponent, not letting Adebisi buck him off.
Niputtaja has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Niputtaja.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Niputtaja is looking for the choke from the back position but Adebisi is controlling his hands well.
Adebisi is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Niputtaja off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Niputtaja keeps control of the position easily here as Adebisi tries to buck him off.
Adebisi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Niputtaja. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Niputtaja is cranking Adebisi's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Adebisi! He's tightened the choke and Adebisi is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nikke Niputtaja!
After winning the bout, Nikke Niputtaja thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
