Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikael Joshua (ranked 2613 p4p, 280 weight class) and Milton Friedman (ranked 1879 p4p, 204 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikael Joshua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Milton Friedman!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joshua just misses with a punch to the body.

Friedman gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Friedman tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Joshua on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Joshua tries to get out of the position.

Friedman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
An elbow from Friedman crashes against the mat.
Joshua knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Friedman on the ground.

Joshua taking punishment in the form of punches.


It looks like Mikael Joshua has been cut.
Friedman looks up at the clock and then as Joshua takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Friedman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!


Mikael Joshua's cut is getting worse.
Friedman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Check out the look on Friedman's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Friedman creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Joshua sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Friedman misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Friedman cracks Joshua with an elbow. That is naaassty.


Jeez, Mikael Joshua's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mikael Joshua's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Milton Friedman!
Milton Friedman tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
