Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jan Hartmur (ranked 3886 p4p, 0 weight class) and Faruk Begic (ranked 7277 p4p, 0 weight class). Faruk Begic has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Hartmur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Faruk Begic!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Begic fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hartmur half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Hartmur feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hartmur has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Begic is proving hard to escape from.
Our spies down at at Tycoon Gym inform us that Begic has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Hartmur is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hartmur has gone for a leg lock! Begic slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hartmur's guard.

Begic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hartmur works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Begic's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Begic connects with a nice short shot to Hartmur's temple.

Hartmur throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Begic lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hartmur looks like he's trying to stand up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
An inside leg kick from Hartmur misses.
Hartmur scores with a jab. Begic acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Hartmur half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Hartmur fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hartmur slaps away a takedown attempt from Begic, before circling back to the center of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jan Hartmur will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hartmur throws a wild body kick that Begic sees coming a mile off.

Begic throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hartmur tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Begic is in Hartmur's guard.

Faruk Begic has got the better of the ground game so far.
Begic is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Begic postures up in Hartmur's guard and throws a big left but Hartmur blocks it.
Hartmur pulls Begic in close to prevent any damage.
Hartmur might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Begic is breathing heavily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Begic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hartmur looking to sit in guard and control but Begic gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Faruk Begic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jan Hartmur is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
