PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Bumanov (ranked 7433 p4p, 646 weight class) and Ricardo Reis (ranked 8442 p4p, 685 weight class). Reis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Linda Martini - Gravidade. Ricardo Reis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reis gets caught napping as Bumanov dives in and scores a takedown. Reis manages to retain guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bumanov wants to get up but he can't break Reis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Reis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bumanov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Reis.
