Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thanh Thornton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justice Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson scores with a takedown into Thornton's guard.
Thornton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

Thornton is fighting to break Jackson's control of his arms but Jackson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Thornton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackson is on top in guard.

Jackson tries to stand but Thornton is controlling from the bottom.
Jackson passes into half guard.
Still in half guard, Jackson seems content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thornton is trying to control but can't.
Jackson is taking a breather. Thornton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Thornton is in trouble now - Jackson has advanced to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thornton is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Thornton tries to reverse the position but Jackson maintains control.
Jackson controlling his opponent.
Jackson lands a big shot there that rocks Thornton but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Thornton tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thornton takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Thornton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jackson with shots to the head and body - Thornton looks very uncomfortable down there.
Jackson content just to control the position here.
Thornton wants to control but Jackson is having none of it.
Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jackson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Thornton to take his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
I really don't envy Thornton right now.
Jackson punches Thornton on the ear.
Jackson has good solid back control here.

Jackson is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Thornton won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Jackson off his unconscious opponent!
