PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elvis Bridges (ranked 25122 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 5968 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniels is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by AC/DC - Back In Black. Jack Daniels will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Daniels!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniels shoots in and bounces Bridges off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Daniels pushing down on Bridges's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Daniels is nestled in close to Bridges, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bridges preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Daniels missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Bridges might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Daniels is trying to control the action in half guard but Bridges is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Daniels might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bridges haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bridges has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Daniels is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Daniels changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bridges looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bridges is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Daniels asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bridges takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Bridges wants to control but Daniels postures up.
Bridges is looking for a sweep.
Daniels connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bridges some visible discomfort.

Daniels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bridges keeps working.
Bridges can't do much from the bottom here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bridges avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Daniels.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Daniels's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Bridges manages to escape to his feet.
Bridges uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Daniels.
Bridges tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Daniels manages to circle out of the way.
Daniels tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bridges was well out of range. Poor timing from Daniels.

Daniels turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Bridges sneaks out the side door and pushes Daniels away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Daniels darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Daniels is taking a breather. Bridges says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Daniels wants to control but Bridges is keeping him busy.

Bridges is trying to maintain the position but Daniels is very close to passing his half guard.
Daniels wants to stand but Bridges has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Bridges is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Daniels wants to take a breather but Bridges is having none of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jack Daniels showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Daniels takes the fight into the clinch.
Bridges changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Daniels fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bridges enables Daniels to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bridges manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Bridges manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Daniels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bridges tries to close the distance and clinch up but Daniels swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bridges wants to clinch up but Daniels keeps it at a distance.

Bridges gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Daniels breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bridges doesn't manage to clinch there - Daniels circles away.
Daniels throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bridges.

I would just about give that final round to Jack Daniels.
Well Daniels has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
