Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Pierce (ranked 24938 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Gallagher (ranked 5807 p4p, 633 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallagher misses with a few strikes there.
Gallagher throws a series of punches but Pierce avoids them all with ease.
Pierce is looking to counter punch.
Pierce fails to land with a series of punches.
Pierce lands a nice hook to Gallagher 's body. Gallagher takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
A punch combination from Gallagher misses.
Gallagher tries a low kick but Pierce avoids it.
A combination from Pierce does no damage.
Gallagher displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pierce.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pierce moves into the clinch.

Gallagher has clasped his hands together around Pierce's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Gallagher stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Pierce circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gallagher cracks a nice hook into Pierce's ribs.
Pierce dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gallagher . That did some damage!

Pierce shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gallagher 's guard.
Pierce throws an elbow that misses. Gallagher uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pierce's guard. Nice move by Gallagher !

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gallagher wants to control from the top but Pierce keeps moving.

Pierce is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gallagher is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pierce not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Pierce pulls Gallagher in close to his closed guard and prevents Gallagher from doing any damage or advancing position.
Gallagher postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Gallagher has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Pierce is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gallagher defends well.

Gallagher frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Gallagher looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Pierce tries to hold on but Gallagher postures up.

Gallagher is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pierce can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Pierce wants to control but Gallagher is having none of it.

Pierce darts in and clinches Gallagher up against the cage.

Gallagher pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gallagher is pawing at Pierce, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Pierce's nose. Pierce is badly hurt! Gallagher pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Pierce tries desperately to hold on but Gallagher is relentless in his assault! As Pierce receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Gallagher away and this one is in the books!
