The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bane rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sammich moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Sammich ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Bane drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Good leg kick by Bane there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Sammich uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bane.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Bane is countered with a crisp right hand from Sammich that sends him to the canvas! Sammich follows him to the mat into side control.

It looks like Lucas Bane has been cut.
Bane tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Sammich presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Bane wants to control but Sammich is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bane is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bane is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sammich's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sammich's back!

A very excited looking Sammy Sammich rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
