The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews tries to close the distance and clinch up but Draven swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Xander Draven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Draven lands a nice shot to the body.
Draven dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Matthews counters with a lovely shot to the body.

It looks like Markus Matthews has been cut.
Draven dives in and grabs Matthews's left leg, looking for a takedown. Matthews pushes down on Draven's head and hops out.
Draven instigates a clinch.
Matthews has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Draven avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Matthews keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Draven's efforts to push away.
Draven is trying to break the clinch but Matthews has him pressed against the cage.
Matthews drops down looking for an ankle pick but Draven pulls his leg out and moves away.
Draven closes the distance and clinches.

Matthews is trying to pull guard but Draven turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Markus Matthews. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Draven shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Matthews but Matthews pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Draven throws an overhand right that has Matthews reeling! Draven follows up with more punches and Matthews is out cold! This one is all over!

Xander Draven decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
